Air Induction Device
The Air Induction Device is a device that draws a surplus of air into the water stream by restricting flow through a Venturi orifice. The flow restriction through the air inductor at the normal operating tank pressures gives this device a “cycle stop” or “constant pressure” functionality that should allow it to be considered under the exceptions for all state and local plumbing codes for draw down compliance. This device will be used in conjunction with all Odor Oxidizer (hydro-pneumatic) plastic lined pressure tank. The different inductor sizes refer to the flow restrictions that occur and are included with various configured tank systems depending on the application.
The Internal Pressure Reducing By-Pass Valve of the inductor allows higher flows when the tank pressures are lower than the pump cut-in pressures which is 42 psi below the incoming pump pressure as shown on the chart below for 5 gpm inductors. When the pressure in the tank is below the cut-in pressure it is considered to be outside of the normal operating pressures, which keeps the pump in a continuous running condition to meet large water demands.
The internal check valve is also an essential part of the inductor to ensure that the pressure inside the tank when under no system demand is maintained and does not leak back causing the pump to short cycle.

Retention and Contact Tank Channeling
Water treatment channeling is the enemy of thorough successful treatment. Inflowing raw water can form narrow currents that flow the shortest distance to the outlet of a tank without significantly diluting into the surrounding water at constant flows.
